Greg Wolfgang
CFO and Chairman of the Board
Gregory
Wolfgang serves as Chief Financial Officer and Chairman of the
Board of Evergreen Apartment Group. Greg provides leadership in the
areas of financing, financial reporting and operations, financial
planning and analysis, internal audit, information technology and
tax. Greg ensures effective governance of the organization and
provides overarching evaluation and guidance regarding the
performance and position of the
company.
By overseeing
the finance and information technology departments, Greg is
responsible for gathering information and analyzing its
implications for the company both financially and operationally.
The timeliness and accuracy of this information and Greg’s insight
into it are critical for the company to make informed decisions on
strategic and tactical matters regarding the operation and growth
of the business. Greg believes that investing in the personnel of
the organization and creating direct lines of communication with
them is essential to the company’s success. He feels that without
spending time in the field and interacting with members of the
company that are directly on the front lines of the organization,
you can never get a complete or accurate picture of any
information. Greg is also the chief financial spokesperson for the
organization and is responsible for all outside
investments.
Greg joined the
company in 1997 after graduating from the University of
Pennsylvania with a degree in economics. Since he joined the
company, Greg has implemented a systematic and comprehensive
program of technological innovations and procedural development
that promotes the highest levels of efficiency and accountability
at the company. His foresight and creativity has consistently
positioned Evergreen as one of the most progressive companies in
the market and pushed Evergreen to greater organizational
heights.
Greg is also a
principal and CFO of Del-Star Construction Company, Inc., a
standalone company that executes many of the renovation and capital
improvement projects at Evergreen
properties.
Greg has also
served on the board of the Delaware Apartment Association (DAA) and
chaired its membership committee. Greg was honored in 2010, as the
National Apartment Association recognized the DAA as one of four
(out of 170) national affiliates with the greatest percentage of
growth in 2009. The growth of the DAA was a direct result of Greg's
efforts as the Chair of the membership committee. The DAA is a
non-profit trade organization representing apartment
owners/managers who operate close to 30,000 rental units in the
State of Delaware and is an Affiliate Member of the National
Apartment Association. Because of Greg’s participation in the DAA
and from Evergreen’s strong reputation in the industry, Greg has
been asked to speak publicly and participate on numerous panels
discussing the real estate industry as well as financial and
economic matters. Greg lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife
and two daughters.
